Philodendron Sun Red (Philodendron Erubescens 'Red Sun')

I like to think of this plant as the fearsome sibling of the Philodendron Pink Princess (Philodendron erubescens ‘Pink Princess’). While there’s more of them around, the red suns give less drama and more kick to your home garden, with hot red leaves that streak out at the top of the plant before cooling down into an elegant shade of green. It’s climbing pattern seems to lie somewhere in between the philodendron pink princess and philodendron black cardinal.

How to Care for Philodendron Sun Red?

These philodendrons don’t tend to be picky, as long as their conditions are relatively consistent, due to the adaptable nature that has them established Colombia. They don’t like drying out, but can handle it better than some other plants, and though they appreciate some organic fertilizers, they don’t require it to live quite happily by your desk at home.
