As a confirmed reincarnated arsonist, this is probably one of my favourite philodendrons out there. Not only does it have the red-orange-yellow hue of fire on its green leaves, it has the aesthetic of a flame in the shape of its leaves, coming from the Philodendron tortum (“twisted”) side of the family. Though a bit slower than a real wildfire, the leaves of this plant can get impressively large as well. Unlike some other philodendrons, you can propagate this plant through stem cuttings (though this is even slower). Whatever you decide to do, this plant is a definite recommend from one crazy human being to another.
How to Care for Philodendron Ring of Fire Variegated?
It might sound a bit strange to water this fire, and in part, you’re right—while philodendrons don’t do well in drought, this plant can also be prone to root rot, and extra care should be given to keeping the root system for facilitating fungal infection; thus some people recommend a soilless medium with orchid bark and coco coir.
