Named for its resemblance to a protective talisman associated with the Egyptian Nepthytis, the goddess of death and protection, this plant is toxic (due to calcium oxalates) but have some history as a medicinal plant, treating skin injuries or disorders (for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties). However, the strange pink speckles on this (progressively) white plant gives the impression of confetti and festivities.
