Pot Size

Alocasia watsoniana ‘lightning’ is a large, heart-shaped jewel of a plant. It has slightly glossy leaves with sharp edges and segmentation, much like cut stone; though, as it matures, it grows ripples that spill out from the middle of its broad, rounded foliage. While watsonianas themselves are quite sharp, with stern, upright growth, the ‘lightning’ cultivar has bright white lines (which bleed as if they have a light glow), running through each of their veins, giving it the appearance of receiving an electrical shock.

Care Guide

How to Grow and Care for Alocasia Watsoniana 'Lightning'?

Despite its rather British name, Watson, the watsoniana is a cultivar of an Asian alocasia, hailing from tropical environments. Thus, despite its thick leaves, the alocasia watsoniana prefer high humidity and frequent watering with airy substrate. Like other alocasias, it will rot if overwatered, but it will slowly drop its leaves if the soil gets dry for long periods of time.
