This plant may look metallic, but if you squint enough, it’s actually just hairy! Covered with reflective little hairs called trichomes, this plant has innovated a system that will disperse indirect sunlight in just the way it likes, while also keeping in a bit of local humidity and keeping out a bit of sunburn. Because of its unreal likeness to rare metals, both through its white shine and its status as a rare collector’s plant, it has become a bit of a symbol of prosperity—at least in the future. In addition to being attributed to the wealth loving dragon, it’s also named after royalty.
How to Care for Alocasia Silver Dragon?
These alocasias are tropical plants from Asia (and Australia). Like many of the other alocasias (and some depictions of dragons), this plant loves water and consistent humidity. After placing it in a well-draining soil or soilless mix, we recommend you keep it’s medium moist and its leaf exposed to bright but indirect light.
