A dwarf hybrid of Alocasia longiloba ‘Watsoniana’ and sanderiana, this accidental lab baby was again accidentally mispelled Alocasia Polly (initially called ‘Alocasia Poly,’ referring to its probable cause of mutation at the time), and then quickly grew in popularity due to its beautifully glossy leaves (taking its wider, sturdier form from its parents) and its compact growth (perfect the more modern city lifestyle, which also grew more and more compact.

How to Grow and Care for Alocasia Polly (Alocasia x amazonica ‘Polly’)?

Though the thick tough leaves of the alocasia amazonica are quite tough as far as alocasias go, they do have similar requirements—they prefer high humidity, dropping leaves and drooping if the soil gets too dry for long periods of time.
