Like the silver dragon, the dragon scale’s scientific name traces back to an old Malay epithet for royalty. And while this plant, with its dark-veined, sculpted look gives the structural impression of a lizard’s thick skin (or a dragon’s scale), it’s precisely the same dramatic look (of its large defined leaves) that has it associated with majesty... it's not clear whether it’s coincidence or not that royalty and dragons can often go hand in hand in the context of fantasies and riches.

Care Guide
How to Care for Alocasia Dragon Scale?
Though the thick tough leaves of the alocasia baginda are often considered tougher than the paper-thin leaves of some other alocasia varieties, they do have similar requirements to other alocasias—they prefer high humidity, and can drop its lowest leaves, drooping for a bit of time, if the soil gets too dry for some period of time.
