Okay, so these ones do not grow as large as some of the other varieties of Alocasias, being a more compact size. But what they don’t have in height they make up in personality, as seen from their dark, sheen leaves which gave it the name jewel plant. However, we like to think of it as the guy who came to the Halloween party with a skeleton hoodie and a bit too much wine.

How to Care for Alocasia Cuprea

While this plant doesn’t feel as aggressive as the other plants, making it seem like a more comfortable addition to your plant collection, it can be a bit greedy and sensitive at times. We suggest you treat it like the other alocasias to prevent it from dramatically throwing all its leaves to the ground and storming off to its room (corm).
