Goodyera hispida is a jewel orchid with thin, sharp-looking leaves (with the name ’hispida’ meaning bristly or hairy), and tiny, sparking white veins that glisten in the understory of tropical East-Asian rainforests, around the Himalayas. While its native climate makes it adaptable to extreme climates (on mountain crevices, for example), it’s lesser known in the human world than its North American counterparts, known as rattlesnake plaintains (also goodyera), which were used for clearing toxins in the blood, lungs and skin (though scientific evidence on these treatments are sparse as well).

Care Guide
How to Grow and Care for Goodyera Hispida?
A terrestrial tropical plant from Southeast Asian forests and Himalayan environments, Goodyera hispida might not look like much at first glance (much like the fragile anoectochilus), but it can handle freezing temperatures and adapt to new environments with more ease than several other species of jewel orchids, making it a great plant for terrarium beginners and people who want a bit of sparkle in their homes.
